Some 733 students nationwide have benefited from the Equity Bank Elimu Scholarship this year and are set to be inducted before joining a university.
Equity Bank Manager, Tala Branch, Stephen Mutua, said the beneficiaries were top-performing students who scored grades A and A- in their KCSE exam.
Speaking yesterday during the flagging-off ceremony for beneficiaries in Tala, Mr Mutua said the scholars will work at the bank as part of the induction process before they join the university.
He said 10,000 students have gone through the program since its inception.
The students have worked in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, where Equity Bank has branches.
“It is a program that is really doing good to the community,” said Mr Mutua.
