Elimu ni Mwangaza gives 211 Nandi students renewed hope of sitting KCSE through sponsorship

Elimu ni Mwangaza programme by Nandi MP Cynthia Muge sponsors 211 students, reviving their hope of sitting KCSE and transforming futures through education

Education remains the strongest equaliser, and Cynthia Muge is reinforcing that belief through a scholarship initiative that is transforming lives across Nandi County.

Through the Elimu ni Mwangaza programme, 211 students on full scholarship are set to sit for their KCSE examinations this year, marking a significant milestone in expanding access to education for vulnerable learners.

The beneficiaries have been drawn from various sub-counties, including Tinderet, Aldai, Mosop, Nandi Hills, Chesumei and Emgwen, with the programme allowing them to pursue their academic dreams without financial barriers.

Speaking in Aldai, Muge underscored the role of education in levelling the playing field, drawing from her own life experience.

“Education is the greatest equaliser. It gave me a chance, and I believe it can do the same for every child, regardless of their background,” she said.

She described the scholarship programme as more than just financial assistance, terming it “hope in action” for hundreds of families who would otherwise struggle to educate their children.

“This is not just about paying school fees. It is about giving these students a future, empowering them to dream bigger, aim higher, and ultimately transform their communities,” she added.

Muge reaffirmed her commitment to continue investing in education, noting that leadership should be measured by its impact on people’s lives.

“A leadership that believes in education is a leadership that secures the future. We will continue to support our children because they are the foundation of tomorrow,” she said.

She also urged the beneficiaries to remain focused on their studies as they prepare to sit their national examinations.

“I encourage all our students to concentrate on their education and make the most of this opportunity. Your future is in your hands,” she said.

The initiative has been widely praised by local leaders and residents, who say it is easing the burden on families while nurturing a generation of educated and empowered youth in Nandi County.
