Over 55, 000 nursery school pupils in public schools within the Meru County are set to start receiving free milk from mid this February in the pioneer pilot programme.
The Meru County government will supply the free milk in conjunction with Meru Dairy Union plant after the later won the tender to supply the nutritious commodity to all the children in the public ECDE classes.
The union CEO Kenneth Gitonga reassured all the education stakeholders in the area that the organisation has enough milk to supply to all the nursery school pupils.
