Residents of Malava constituency have been asked to stop politicizing the idea of sub dividing the constituency into two.

The Malava MP Malulu Injendi said politics has been playing center stage every time the proposal to have two constituencies cropped up leading to the idea being discarded.

The MP was speaking during the disbursement of the sub county secondary schools bursary cheques to principals at a function held at the constituency development offices.

Injendi stated that plans were underway to have two constituencies within the sub county starting next year that will see more development and resources being.

The idea to have Malava cut into two has always elicited fierce trading of arguments that leads to the whole idea being shelved but this time round let us focus and look at the bigger picture of what the two constituencies will bring.

The third time MP observed that the subdivision will bring more resources, employment and infrastructure to the local and hence it should be embraced fully by all.

“I have always wondered why the thought proposal to have two constituencies within Malava has been a bitter pill to many of us to swallow and yet the population allows for such, let us stop being petty and creating animosity out of nothing since this whole idea I to bring development to the people, let u reason together and agree so that we can spruce up our economy and livelihood.

Mugai Shirugu Ward MCA, Peter Wanami, urged stakeholders to agree on the mode of demarcating the constituency without dragging politics into it.

East Kabras MCA, Kefa Musiya and his South Kabras counterpart Josephat Wakukha hailed the idea and promised to educate the locals on the importance of having two constituencies.

We as leaders are committed to ensure that this idea does not go to waste as it is bound to benefit us a great deal said Wakukha.

He said it will be a disgrace for the proposal to be thrown into the dustbin for the second time due to unhealthy politics from some quarters within the constituency and it is this kind of leaders, he added, who are also bringing chaos in schools, hampering performance.
