A health practitioner in Kaloleni sub-county has decried the high dropout rate among school girls in Kilifi county.
Speaking to Education News in Kaloleni town, Community Health Volunteer, Zubeda Kilonzo, attributed the dropout rate to early pregnancies and early marriages.
She said that the trend has greatly contributed to low standards of education in the county.
Kilonzo called on all education stakeholders in the region to cooperate in order to ensure girls receive their right to education.
She further urged the government to arrest and arraign men who defile and impregnate school girls.
Kilonzo, at the same time, asked parents in the county to closely monitor the movements of their daughters as a preventive measure.
