Police in Kisii have launched investigations into what might have led to the death of a college student.
According to the residents of Kiamabundu estate in Kisii town, the deceased was a student at Elgonview College Kisii town campus.
“We found his body hanging from a tree outside his rental room yesterday.” Said Peris Gesare
The area assistant chief Simeon Ondande received the information about the incident and called the police.
The body has since been moved to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary for post-mortem pending burial arrangements.
Kisii County police Commander Charles Kesses while confirming the incident said the body was identified as Silas Makori a student at Elgonview College.
Sources who sought to remain anonymous revealed that the deceased had differed with his girlfriend a student of Kisii University. So speculations were rife that it could be why he took his life.
Elgon View College Deputy Principal Nelson Ndege said he received the bad news with shock.
He appealed to the youth to share their worries with friends or relatives who can offer alternative solutions instead of death.
