Co-operative Bank has contributed Sh10 million towards the 2026 World Teachers Day celebrations being organised by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
The contribution was formally presented to TSC Chairman Dr Jamleck Muturi in the presence of senior officials from the Commission’s various departments. The celebrations are scheduled for October 5, 2026, at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, Nairobi, where teachers and education stakeholders will gather to mark the annual event.
Speaking during the handover, Co-operative Bank Head of Government and Public Sector Banking Silvance Nono reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to supporting the Government and TSC in strengthening the education sector.

The contribution is expected to support preparations for the national celebrations, which provide an opportunity to recognise the contribution of teachers to the country’s education system and acknowledge their role in shaping future generations.
The partnership between the bank and TSC also highlights the role of private-sector institutions in supporting initiatives aimed at promoting education and teacher welfare. World Teachers Day is observed annually on October 5 and provides an opportunity to recognise teachers for their contribution to education and national development. This year’s celebrations will bring together teachers, education officials and other stakeholders at Kasarani for a day dedicated to appreciating the teaching profession.
