Cleric decries high number of girls serving in bars in Kisii

A cleric has raised concern over the high number of young girls serving in bars in Kisii County.

Speaking at the ongoing Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Camp meeting area for Nyacheki Division pastor Shem Nyagwachi, said the number of girls serving in bars is alarming raising concern on the state of moral discipline.

The pastor said high number of young girls working in bars in Nyacheki, Nyangusu Nyamache, Magena and Mogonga towns majority of them come from the neighbouring counties as far Bomet County.

He also urges young people to preserve their body as the temple of God and involve themselves in constructive activities during the August holidays instead of indulging in beer drinking and other drugs that affect their health.

“The bible says that anybody who abuses their body shall be destroyed when you indulged in immorality you are violating the law stop that and live longer.” he said.

Pastor Nyagwachi asked parents to embrace love in their families to create a desirable environment for their children to grow in instead of abandoning their homes to seek love elsewhere.

He accused fathers who are perpetually absent from their homes for the moral decadence for their growing curious adolescent male youths who are left wandering in the streets.

The pastor said that his church will endeavor to create youth friendly lessons aimed at solving their problems to enable them to be retained in the church.

He asked teachers to be in the forefront towards reclaiming the lives of the youth as they understand them better though their profession which is centred on child tutorage, care, growth and development.
