Teachers and parents of Moi Commonwealth Primary School in Kanduyi, Bungoma could not hold back their tears after receiving the poorest Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination results since inception of the school.
The school which emerged among the top in the 2021 KCPE exams is now missing on the map after the best pupil attained 365 marks out of the possible 500 compared to 418 in 2021.
The Head teacher Mr. Kevin Wanyama told Education News that he suspects something sinister has interfered with the results of his candidates whom the school had placed a lot of hope in.
Teachers together with parents affirmed their determination to appeal against the results and seek clarification as the candidates have been leading in all Mock exams before sitting for the national examinations.
Wanyama’s child who also sat for the exam at the school got 334 marks against expectations since he has never attained marks below 390.
This comes at a time when the best pupil nationally Fwaro Makokha Robinson got 431 marks from Christ The King Primary school while Chad Tendo of Webuye ACK Primary school scored 412 marks.
Other schools which performed exemplarily in Bungoma county include Pinnacle Academy, Nabongo Academy and Bungoma DEB Primary school.
