A family in Bungoma County is appealing for help in tracing 13-year-old Sharon Natasha Wanjala, a Grade 9 pupil at Maliki Primary Junior Secondary School, who has been missing from her home in Maliki Village, Kamkuywa.
Sharon reportedly disappeared on Sunday, September 6, 2026, a day after her mother confronted her over her use of social media. According to family sources, Sharon’s mother discovered that the teenager was chatting through a Facebook account late Saturday night, despite being expected to concentrate on her schoolwork. The discovery reportedly resulted in a domestic disagreement, after which her mother disciplined her, confiscated her smartphone and instructed her to destroy the SIM card.

On Sunday morning, Sharon remained at home to complete her school assignments while the rest of the family attended church services. However, when her mother returned home at about 3pm, she found that Sharon was nowhere to be seen. The family subsequently reported her disappearance at Maliki Police Post and began efforts to establish her whereabouts.
Police and family members have appealed to members of the public with any information that could help locate Sharon to report to the nearest police station. Anyone with information about her whereabouts can also contact the family on 0705006779 or 0726531213. The family is appealing for credible information that could help reunite Sharon with her relatives safely.
