Bomet University sets reporting date for first-year studen

First-year students at Bomet University will report on August 18 and 19 for the new semester.
Orientation begins on August 20, followed by the university’s matriculation ceremony on August 28.
Students must complete registration and pay at least half of required semester fees by September 18.

Bomet University has set August 18 as the start of reporting for first-year students ahead of the September–December 2026 semester.

The university’s Division of Academic and Student Affairs announced that new students will report on August 18 and 19 before beginning a week-long orientation programme on August 20.

Orientation will run through August 27, with the matriculation ceremony scheduled for August 28.

For continuing students, reporting is set for August 31, while classes will begin on September 2.

The university has also opened the registration window from August 31 to September 18, during which students are expected to complete nominal roll signing and semester or course registration.

Students required to pay 50 percent of fees

A key requirement is the payment of at least half of the required semester fees by September 18.

“All students are required to complete Nominal Roll signing, semester/course registration, and payment of at least 50% of the required fees by 18th September 2026,” the university said.

Students who are yet to make financial arrangements have therefore been urged to act early as the deadline approaches.

The academic calendar lists August 18–19 for first-year reporting, August 20–27 for orientation and August 28 for matriculation.

Continuing students will report on August 31, while nominal roll signing and registration will run from August 31 to September 18.

Classes will begin on September 2, with September 18 being the deadline for payment of at least 50 per cent of the required fees.

Students urged to plan ahead

Dr Fredrick Olang’a Wafula, Deputy Registrar, Academic and Student Affairs, signed the notice.

“Students are encouraged to plan accordingly and liaise with their respective Schools and relevant University offices for any clarification regarding the scheduled activities,” the notice stated.

The announcement places Bomet University among Kenyan institutions releasing their academic schedules as universities prepare for the 2026/27 academic year.
