The incident has been confirmed by Senator Hillary Sigei who expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and extended his condolences to the bereaved family and the wider community.

The victims, a seven-year-old child and six-year-old twins, reportedly perished when the fire broke out during the night and engulfed the building, leaving residents shocked and devastated.
Confirming the incident on Thursday, July 2, Bomet Senator Hillary Sigei expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and extended his condolences to the bereaved family and the wider community.
“I am deeply saddened by the tragic loss of three innocent children, a seven-year-old and two six-year-old twins who lost their lives after a fire consumed the kitchen where they were sleeping at Kimatisio Village, Nyongores Ward, Chepalungu Constituency,” the senator said in a statement.
Sigei described the deaths as a heartbreaking loss and assured the family of support as they cope with the tragedy.

“My heartfelt condolences go out to the bereaved family, relatives, friends and the entire Kimatisio community during this painful and unimaginable time. No words can truly ease the pain of losing young lives in such a tragic manner,” he added.
The senator further prayed for strength and comfort for the affected family, saying the community stands with them during the difficult period of mourning.
Authorities have not yet established the cause of the fire. Investigations are expected to be launched to determine how the blaze started and the circumstances that led to the deaths of the three children.
The incident adds to a growing concern over deadly fire outbreaks in Bomet County, following several recent cases that have resulted in loss of life and destruction of property.
Community leaders have urged residents to enhance fire safety measures, especially during the night, to prevent similar tragedies.
