Basic Education at Kanaani Primary School in Yatta Sub-county on Thursday received a boost following the opening of two Early Childhood Development Education Centres (ECDEs).

The classrooms, built by the Usaidizi Foundation, were commissioned by Machakos County Governor Wavinya Ndeti who was accompanied by her Deputy Francis Mwangangi.

Speaking during the function, Governor Ndeti thanked the Foundation led by Antony Achola for their generosity and welcomed more well-wishers to partner with the county government in improving educational infrastructure.

“My government is very grateful to Usaidizi Foundation for their generosity and welcome other development partners to support education in our county,” she said.

She reiterated her commitment to making quality education accessible to all.

Governor Ndeti said her administration would disburse the largest bursary allocation in the history of the county the following day, which she fulfilled as promised.

The county government disbursed Ksh120 million to needy children, an improvement from the previous Ksh80 million.
