Kibwezi East constituency aspiring Member of Parliament Amos Ngumbi has urged parents in Kibwezi East with needy school kids to apply for bursary from his foundation.
Speaking during Kibwezi branch Knut elections at Nguumo secondary, Ngumbi, a surveyor by profession and director of Amos Ngumbi foundation said he is focused in uplifting education through supporting the needy.
The aspirant said the foundation has so far supported 500 needy students.
He said people focus on top performers in national exams and forget about those who didn’t perform well but who needed assistance.
He encouraged teachers to stay firm in KNUT, adding that union will not die despite being fought all the time.
The aspirant however encouraged teachers to apply or get title deeds for their lands. He observed that teachers are very learned people but not all of them have title deeds for their lands.
