Ainamoi MP launches football tourney, says football is an income source for youths

Over 124 teams are set to participate in the Benja football tournament to battle it out for the Ainamoi Member of Parliament cup in the Ainamoi Constituency.

Speaking during the launch at Kipchimchim grounds the area Hon. Benjamin Langat said the response of the participating teams was good and encouraging.

“Today was the much anticipated day when for me to launch the Benja Cup here at Kipchimchim grounds. This tournament has attracted a record around 124 teams, which is a great indication for a beginning.” The MP said

The legislator added that “As the Ainamoi representative I am delighted to heed the call of the youth and be part of the activity that is geared towards a long-term improvement of their livelihoods.”

He encouraged the participating teams to play professionally and uphold the ethics of the great game of football.

Langat held that currently sports, apart from being a big source of entertainment was a great source of income and that the youth should pursue it with passion.

“I take this early opportunity to wish all the participating teams a success. May the best team win.” He stated

He flagged off the starting game between Kipchimchim B FC and Nyagacho FC.
