Agriculture CS advises teachers to tame runaway cost of living by farming

Agriculture Cabinet Secretary (CS) Mithika Linturi has advised teachers countrywide to tame the runaway cost of living by diversifying their earnings through engaging in other income generating activities like farming, besides teaching.

He said owing to the rising cost of living and the hard economic times, teachers should think outside the box by establishing other income generating projects as side hustles.

Linturi urged the teachers to embrace farming because it is very profitable due to the attractive incentives the government is giving, adding that it will also resolve the food crisis in the country.

“I wish to encourage teachers to diversify their earnings by venturing into farming as a way of making more money besides employment. This way, we will have enough food to feed the nation while earning more. The cost of living has skyrocketed and we have to find income generating alternatives to cushion citizens against the hard economic times,” he said.

He said this when he graced Solution Sacco’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at Gikumene Primary School grounds in North Imenti Constituency.
