A student at Kitale National Polytechnic has gone missing sending the family into fear and agony over uncertainty of her whereabouts.
20 year old Centrine Juma, whose phone signal was last traced in Eldoret two days after leaving home for school, has disappeared for three weeks now.
Juma’s family members, who reside at Kibagenge in Waitaluk ward, said the disappearance of their kin has caused them untold suffering.
Recounting the last moments while at their residence in Kibagenge, Celestine Juma ,who is the elder sister, told Education News that Centrine left home with the intention of registering for a new academic year only not to return back.
“She told us that she had planned to register for a new course. She was to come back home afterwards but she is yet to return,” explained the sister.
John Otieno, the Principal of the national polytechnic confirmed the disappearance of the student saying that she did not report to the institution as alleged by the family
He disclosed that the institution learnt of the incident after the family called to know of her whereabouts.
“This matter was brought to our attention by the parents. The truth of the matter is that she is our former student. Her course lasted for one year. She sat for her exams in July last year and has never come back.” Said the Principal.
