Principal Secretary for Basic Education Dr. Belio Kipsang has said the government through the Ministry of Education will deliver desks to public primary and secondary schools by the end of next week.
The PS made remarks while assessing the status of the desks production in Narok. He later visited Kisulu Primary and Ole Tipis Girls High School.
“Artisans in Narok County will receive Sh 36 Million out of the allocated Sh1.9 billion,” said the PS.
He said artisans contracted to fabricate desks have completed the production and will be delivered to schools by next week.
The PS said the production of desks aims at improving the learning environment for children as well as stimulating the economy which has been torn by the Covid-19 pandemic.
On the other hand, the Principal Secretary for Post Training and Skills Development Mr. Alfred Cheruiyot during the occasion said the government is keen on ensuring that youth joins colleges to learn the trade and other skills.
Present during the occasion were the area County Director for Education Mr. Philip Wambua and his TSC counterpart, Mr. Bernard Kimachas.
