Veronica Anyango, 13, has heaved a sigh of relief as all is set for her to resume her studies after recovering from a strange disease that saw her breast sag to the bottom of her tummy.
After her plight was highlighted by the Education News, Member of Parliament for Rongo Paul Abuor came to her rescue and facilitated her medication at Moi and Teaching Referral Hospital in Eldoret where she underwent successful plastic surgery.
The Standard Eight Pupil at Kanyadgiro Primary School in Rongo sub-county dropped from school early this year due to shame that engulfed her following ridicule from her classmates over her unpredictable situation.
Anyango who is currently preparing for her Kenya Certificate for Primary Education (KCPE) early next year has vowed to shine stating she has been given a second chance to excel in her education and pursue her future dreams.

“When my health deteriorated, I lost hope of achieving my dreams in life but the MP rejuvenated my spirit. It is a golden opportunity that I promise to work extra hard in my studies,” said Anyango.
She, however, noted that she has not lost a lot academically since schools closed at the time she was unwell and healed at the time the CS announced the resumption of physical learning for Grade 4, Class Eight and Form Fours.
Index two at her school appreciated the efforts by this publication for highlighting her plight.
Her elated mother Maureen Adhiambo who could not hold her joy sent her gratitude to Education News and other well-wishers who came to their aid.
“My daughter’s medical bill was approximately Sh140, 000 which was paid by Hon Abuor, a gesture that I cannot take for granted. We had lost hope but the legislator raised our hope as a family,” said Adhiambo.
