Teachers Service Commission (TSC) boss Dr. Nancy Macharia’s term came to an end on Tuesday 30th June 2020, albeit there has been no formal communication regarding her reappointment or sourcing a new boss.
To date the office of the President has not gazette the reappointment of Ms. Macharia hence the process of appointing a new CEO is yet to kick off.
A confidential source leaked to the media that the Commission is likely to let her go. The sources cited that if her term was to be extended, there would have been an advertisement for the position three months ago.
The silence has prompted the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) led by Nelson Havi to push for a competitive recruitment. In his letter to the Attorney General, Mr. Havi cited that there are plans to renew her tenure without subjecting the position to a competitive recruitment.
