Teachers and school management boards in Makueni County have been warned against imposing illegal levies on students.
Makueni County Commissioner Maalim Mohammed has said the Government will take actions on any school head going against the guidelines by the Ministry of Education on school fees. “No student should miss lessons because of such levies charged by school heads. The Government is committed to providing free and compulsory primary and day secondary education,” Maalim said.
He was speaking at his office in Wote town following complaints from parents in Kibwezi and Makueni sub counties.
