Four teachers from Bomet County have been selected to represent the county at this year’s national World Teachers’ Day celebrations scheduled for Monday, October 5, at the Kasarani Gymnasium in Nairobi.

The teachers received official invitations from the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to attend the national event, where teachers from across the country will gather to celebrate their contribution to education and nation-building.

Those invited are Daniel Mutai of Chebanyiny Primary School in Chepalungu, Dominic Orina of Kugerwet Primary School in Konoin, Nicholas Rotich of Moniret Junior Secondary School in Sotik and Janet Chepkoech of Kapchepkoro Primary School in Sotik.

Their selection places Bomet among the counties represented at the national celebrations and highlights the contribution of teachers working at both primary and junior secondary school levels.

The World Teachers’ Day celebrations provide an opportunity to recognise educators for their role in nurturing learners, supporting academic development and preparing young people for the future.

National recognition for educators

The four teachers will join their colleagues from other counties at the Kasarani event, which is expected to bring together education stakeholders to mark the annual occasion dedicated to the teaching profession.

World Teachers’ Day is observed globally on October 5 to recognise the work of teachers and highlight the importance of the profession in society.
