Teachers participating in a seven-day virtual training facilitated by the Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE) will receive Sh3,500 each to cover airtime and internet data costs.
The facilitation will be paid at a rate of Sh500 per day throughout the training period, according to a communication issued to participating teachers.
The payments will be made in two tranches. The first payment, covering the first three days of the training, is expected to be disbursed by Thursday, September 24, 2026. The second tranche, covering the remaining four days, will be released at the conclusion of the training on Sunday, September 27.
However, KISE has clarified that the facilitation will not be available to all teachers undertaking the virtual programme. Only teachers who were officially appointed by the respective Teachers Service Commission (TSC) County Directors, and whose details were submitted through contacts provided by the county directors, will qualify for the payment.

The training is part of efforts to equip teachers with skills in special needs education and is being conducted virtually to allow participants to undertake the programme remotely.
The clarification on the facilitation is expected to ensure that payments are made only to teachers whose participation was formally verified and submitted through the established TSC channels.
