Head of Citizen Engagement and Customer Service in the County Government of Nairobi, Geoffrey Mosiria has dismissed claims circulating online that he was suspended or expelled from the University of Nairobi (UoN) during his time as a student.
Mosiria said he had a clean disciplinary record throughout his university years and challenged those spreading what he described as a false narrative to stop misleading the public. “During my time at the University of Nairobi, I was never suspended or expelled from the institution. I have clean records and no history of goons or criminal activities,” he said in a statement issued from Munich, Germany.
He said his university record included academic and leadership achievements, noting that he served as a class representative and held a leadership position in the Students’ Organisation of Nairobi University (SONU). Mosiria said he remained proud of his university journey and the values he upheld during his studies.

His claims are supported by an official letter from the University of Nairobi, dated November 11, 2024, and signed by the then Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Academic Affairs, Eng. Prof Ayub Gitau. The letter states that Mosiria, whose full name is given as Geoffrey Mosiria Omatoke, was admitted to the university on September 5, 2011, to pursue a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
According to the university, he successfully completed his studies and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance Option), Second Class Honours (Upper Division), during a graduation held on December 5, 2014. The institution also confirmed that Mosiria served as Secretary for Sports and Entertainment in the Students’ Organisation of Nairobi University.

“Based on the information in our records, Geoffrey Mosiria Omatoke did not appear before any disciplinary committee for violation of University rules and regulations,” the letter states. The university further said there were no disciplinary actions or incidents recorded against him up to his graduation in 2014.
Mosiria’s statement comes amid online claims about his conduct during his university years, which he has rejected, saying his academic and institutional records speak for themselves.
