Bomet University has invited financially needy students to apply for positions under its 2026/2027 first-semester Work-Study Programme.
The university’s Department of Student Affairs said the programme is intended to provide opportunities for eligible students to undertake manual work within the institution while receiving support through the work-study arrangement. In a notice, Head of Department, Student Affairs, Dr Daniel Chesaro, urged interested students to submit handwritten applications to the Office of the Dean of Students, attaching photocopies of relevant supporting documents.
According to the university, applications must meet several eligibility requirements. Students are required to demonstrate financial need and should not have served in any elective position at Bomet University. Applicants, except first-year students, must also have attained a minimum cumulative average of 50 per cent in the previous academic years. In addition, students seeking consideration must have no record of having gone through a disciplinary process at the university.
The deadline for submitting applications is Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 5 pm. The university cautioned that the available Work-Study positions are competitive and that only a limited number of students will be selected.

The programme is part of the university’s student welfare initiatives aimed at supporting learners facing financial challenges while also providing them with an opportunity to participate in various activities within the institution. Eligible students have therefore been encouraged to submit their applications before the deadline.
The notice was copied to the Vice Chancellor, Deputy Vice Chancellors, Deans of Schools, Registrar, Chief Security Officer, Student Counsellor and the Chairperson of the Student Welfare Committee.
