Omoenga Comprehensive School in Kitutu Chache North Constituency is among 40 of 67 schools that have benefited from NG-CDF funding for infrastructure development.
The school has put up a modern one-storey administration block courtesy of NG-CDF funding.
During the opening of the block, area MP Japheth Nyakundi said the facility will help teachers operate in a more conducive environment.
Nyakundi said a good working environment for teachers is key to effective delivery of pedagogical services.
He explained that when teachers operate from a spacious, well-ventilated and well-equipped administration block, they are able to prepare schemes of work, lesson plans and teaching aids in a settled and organised manner without congestion.
He added that a conducive environment boosts teacher morale, reduces stress and fatigue, enhances teamwork and consultation among staff, and ensures privacy when handling sensitive learner issues and counselling students.
Better environment for teachers
According to the legislator, this translates into improved time management, better classroom delivery, closer monitoring of learners’ progress and, ultimately, improved academic performance.
The school’s headteacher thanked the MP for the support, saying the block will improve service delivery and create dignity for the teaching profession.

Area residents lauded the NG-CDF initiative, saying it has transformed many schools in the constituency that previously had dilapidated structures.
