North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko has pledged to pay school fees for all students in Grade 10 to Form Four at Ntana Mixed Secondary School in Nyamira County through the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF), in a move aimed at boosting enrolment at the institution.
The MP decried low enrolment at small schools and pledged payment of school fees to boost the population. “We want parents to change the negative attitude towards their local schools and bring them here to cut short the costs of travelling far,” he said. Nyamoko was speaking on Friday during a prayer day at the institution.

The prayer day brought together parents, teachers and students to seek God’s intervention as candidates prepare for national examinations. It also aimed at giving students confidence, moral support and encouragement from both parents and teachers, boosting their morale, reducing anxiety and reminding them that the whole community stands behind them as they approach their exams.
Nyamoko said his NG-CDF office would continue supporting the development of school infrastructure, describing it as important support to the schools. He said improved infrastructure is key because it creates a conducive learning environment, improves retention and enrolment, enhances the safety of learners, reduces congestion in classrooms, boosts academic performance, promotes dignity and motivation among both teachers and learners, and ensures equal opportunities for rural schools to compete with urban schools.
