- School leadership says attention will now shift to academics during third term.
St Peter’s Comprehensive School, Musikoma in Bungoma County is celebrating after posting impressive national victories in co-curricular activities, marking a historic milestone for the institution.
The school on Monday held a colourful celebration to fete learners and teachers who excelled in music, ball games, athletics and drama at the national level.
Speaking during the event, Headteacher Mwelu Wasilwa said the school scooped position one in ball games at Thika under the Special Needs Education (SNE) category and emerged top in Class 251 at the National Music Festivals held at Kibabii University on August 14, 2026.
“Today we have been celebrating the achievements we made in music and ball games. We managed to be position one in ball games at Thika under the SNE category, and today we are celebrating the learners who are winners and the teachers who coached them,” said Wasilwa.
School records historic national music win
He noted that the national trophy in music marks the first time in many years the school has clinched position one at the national level.
Wasilwa added that the school also placed fourth nationally in drama and posted top positions in SNE athletics.
With the co-curricular calendar winding down, the headteacher said focus now shifts to academics in third term to ensure holistic development of learners.
“We want to support these children to be holistic. This third term, we have decided to embark on academics. We shall bring back very good results and take our learners to very good schools going forward,” he said.

He urged parents to support talent development under the Competency-Based Education (CBE) framework, noting that talents offer viable career pathways.
