Kobala Mixed Secondary School’s girls’ football team has suffered a major blow following the departure of four key players who have transferred to different schools to continue their football careers.
The players are striker Beffine Shalley, fellow forward Khadijah Furaha, team captain Idah Akinyi Ouma and goalkeeper Idah Akinyi.
The quartet played important roles in Kobala’s football setup, with their departures expected to leave a significant gap in the team ahead of upcoming school competitions.
Shalley and Furaha provided attacking options, while Ouma offered leadership on and off the pitch as captain. Goalkeeper Akinyi was also a key figure between the posts.
Kobala face rebuilding task
Their transfers mark the end of an important chapter for the four players at Kobala as they now begin new football journeys at their respective schools.
Kobala will be hoping to rebuild its squad and maintain its competitive edge despite losing some of its influential players.
