A family in Mandera has launched an urgent search for 18-year-old Liin Muktar, who went missing in Wajir Town while travelling to Nairobi with her brother.
Liin was aboard a Nairobi-bound bus from Mandera on Monday, August 31, 2026, when she reportedly disappeared during a stopover in Wajir Town. According to her family, passengers alighted from the bus to perform evening Maghrib prayers, but Liin did not return to the bus afterwards, prompting her brother and other passengers to raise the alarm.
The family said Liin was travelling to Nairobi to seek specialised medical care and spiritual support for an ongoing illness. She has since remained missing, with her family expressing concern over her safety, particularly given her fragile health condition. Liin is described as tall and brown-complexioned.

Her family is appealing to members of the public, transport operators and authorities in Wajir and surrounding areas to help trace her whereabouts. Anyone who may have seen Liin or has information that could assist in locating her is urged to contact her family on 0724 222 807 or report to the nearest police station. The family is appealing for continued public support as efforts to locate her intensify.
