Harambee Junior Starlets Under-17 star Ivy Atieno has completed her move from national champions St Joseph’s Girls, Kitale, popularly known as Joga, to Wiyeta Girls ahead of next year’s Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Games.
The highly rated forward, who is a product of Gudush Soccer Academy, joins the Bees in a move that is expected to strengthen their squad as they plot a strong campaign in the national school games.
Atieno has been making steady progress through the ranks and her involvement with the Harambee Junior Starlets has given her valuable experience at the international level.
Her pace, technical ability and attacking instincts make her an important addition to Wiyeta’s set-up.
Her arrival will raise expectations at Wiyeta, who will be looking to build a squad capable of competing with the country’s leading schoolgirls’ football teams when the KSSSA Games return next year.
The move also comes after Joga’s impressive run in school football, with the Kitale-based side currently holding the national championship.
