- KAFU has ruled out relocating existing programmes to Vokoli and has urged the public to rely only on official communication from the institution.
Kaimosi Friends University (KAFU) has moved to dispel reports circulating on social media claiming that it is establishing the Moses Mudavadi College of Health Sciences as a constituent college at its Vokoli facilities.
In a statement issued through the office of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Peter N. Mwita, the university termed the claims misleading and urged the public to disregard the reports, relying instead on official communication from the institution.
KAFU said the process of securing the Vokoli infrastructure dates back to 2022, before the institution attained university status, and forms part of a broader expansion strategy aimed at increasing learning space and supporting the university’s growth. The university clarified that the Vokoli facilities were secured at no cost and are earmarked for the establishment of the Moses Mudavadi Campus of Kaimosi Friends University, rather than a constituent college as claimed online.

The institution ruled out any plans to relocate existing schools or academic programmes from its main campus to Vokoli, stating instead that the new campus will host new academic programmes aligned with KAFU’s strategic direction, institutional mandate and long-term expansion plans. Development of the campus, it said, will be undertaken within the framework of existing laws, regulatory requirements and institutional policies.
KAFU has urged the public to exercise caution when consuming information circulating on social media, stressing that official announcements from the university remain the authoritative source on its programmes and expansion plans.

The clarification is expected to ease growing concerns and speculation surrounding the intended use of the Vokoli facilities and the proposed Moses Mudavadi Campus.
