The Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET), Nandi Branch, is mourning the death of Lilian Jepngetich Kirwa, a Junior Secondary School (JSS) teacher at Kipchamo Comprehensive School in Chebarus Zone, Nandi East Sub-County.
Kirwa succumbed to birth-related complications, leaving behind a grieving family, colleagues, learners and friends who have remembered her for her dedication to the teaching profession.
Teachers who worked with her described Kirwa as a committed and selfless educator who always put the interests and welfare of her learners first. They said she was passionate about her work and consistently went beyond her duties to support, guide and encourage learners.
Her colleagues said her untimely death was a great loss to Kipchamo Comprehensive School and the wider education fraternity in Nandi County.
Union mourns teacher
KUPPET Nandi Branch has expressed its condolences to the family of the late teacher, saying her contribution to the teaching profession and the lives of the learners she served will be remembered.
The union also conveyed its sympathies to her colleagues at Kipchamo Comprehensive School, describing her death as a painful loss to the teaching fraternity.
Kirwa’s death comes at a time when the education community continues to mourn the loss of teachers who have dedicated their lives to shaping the future of young people.
Burial arrangements
At the time of receiving the news of her death, burial arrangements had not yet been put in place. Further details regarding the funeral arrangements are expected to be communicated by the family in due course.
The bereaved family, colleagues and learners have been left to come to terms with the loss of an educator remembered for her commitment, compassion and devotion to her learners.
