Aspirants seeking various positions in the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) Regional Council elections have until tomorrow, Saturday, August 15, 2026, to pay their nomination fees and submit completed nomination forms.
According to a notice issued by KUPPET on the Regional Elections and Regulations, the elections are scheduled for August 21, 2026, with all delegates required to adhere to the union’s nomination and voting regulations.
The nomination fees vary depending on the position being contested. Candidates seeking the position of Regional Secretary will pay KSh50,000, while those vying for Regional Chairperson and Regional Treasurer will each pay KSh30,000.
Candidates for Regional Vice Chairperson, Regional Assistant Secretary, Regional Vice Treasurer and Regional Women Representative are required to pay KSh20,000 each.
The union has directed that nomination fees be deposited into its designated Equity Bank account at the Fourways Branch in Nairobi.
A duly completed nomination form, together with the original bank deposit slip, must then be forwarded to the KUPPET National Office through the respective KUPPET branch office.
The deadline for both payment of nomination fees and submission of nomination forms is August 15, 2026.
Voting regulations
The union has also outlined several regulations governing the elections. Each candidate will be allowed one agent at the polling station without substitution during the elections.
Members who cause or incite violence at polling stations will be disqualified from voting, while delegates must be among the 14 elected branch officials and produce an original National Identity Card.
Voting will be conducted during the council meeting session and will close at 2pm.
KUPPET has urged all members and aspirants to observe the regulations to ensure a free, fair and transparent election process.
