The Ministry of Education (MoE) has announced another round of transfers affecting principals at several Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions across the country.
Among the changes, Turbo TVC Principal Boniface Stedi has been moved to Kongoni TVC in the Western region, taking over from Judith Akaranga, who retired this month after heading several TVET institutions over the years.
The reshuffle has triggered a chain of subsequent moves. Chepalungu TVC Principal David Kurgat has been transferred to Turbo TVC to replace Stedi, while Daniel Kangogo, who was heading North Horr TVC in Marsabit County, has been moved to Chepalungu to take over from Kurgat.

Also affected is Nkabune TTI Principal Peninah Ngina, who has been transferred to Igembe Central TVC, replacing Catherine Kathure, whose next posting had not been confirmed at press time.
Nkabune TTI has been at the centre of leadership wrangles in recent months, with the local community protesting the institution’s management. Last week, parents took to the streets demanding the transfer of the principal over a range of allegations.
Education News has learnt that further major changes affecting TVET principals are expected before the end of the year. Sources at the MoE said the movements are being effected to boost service delivery and address declining enrolment, an issue that has affected most colleges in recent years.
