Learners have been urged to maintain discipline and dedicate their August holiday to studies to improve their academic performance and future prospects.
Sam Ayabei of Kamarmagai AIC Bishop School called on learners to avoid bad behaviour and remain focused on their education during the holiday.
Ayabei urged the learners to respect their teachers, parents and other members of the community while avoiding activities that could negatively affect their future.
“Learners should use the August holiday wisely. They should avoid bad behaviour and continue studying so that they can improve their academic performance,” Ayabei said.
Maintain peace and discipline
Speaking in Iten, he also cautioned students against engaging in unrest and other activities that could disrupt their education.
“We are asking our learners to maintain peace and avoid any form of unrest. They should respect their teachers and listen to their parents and guardians,” he said.
Ayabei said parents had already played their part by paying school fees and providing the necessary support for their children’s education.
“Parents have played their role by paying fees and supporting their children in school. Learners also have a duty to play their part by studying hard and maintaining discipline,” he said.
Use holiday for revision
He said students should take advantage of the holiday to revise what they had learnt in school while also preparing for the next academic term.
Ayabei further encouraged parents to closely monitor their children’s activities during the holiday and guide them towards constructive engagements.
He said discipline, hard work and commitment to education would help learners achieve their ambitions and secure a better future.

“The future of our children depends on the choices they make today. Let them remain disciplined, respect their teachers and use this holiday to prepare themselves for a better future,” Ayabei added.
