Narok West Member of Parliament (MP) Gabriel Tongoyo has reiterated his commitment to strengthening education across the constituency, saying investment in learning facilities remains central to his development agenda.
Speaking during the commissioning of NG‑CDF‑funded projects at Kipsongol, Laila and Agaanga primary schools, Tongoyo said expanding classrooms and administration blocks was vital to improving academic performance and creating a conducive environment for learners.
“Education is my top priority because it is the greatest equaliser in society. When we invest in our children’s education today, we are securing the future of Narok West and the nation at large,” he told residents.
Since assuming office, Tongoyo noted, several new classrooms have been completed while many more are under construction to ease congestion in schools and expand access to quality education. He pledged to continue investing in infrastructure until every child has a proper place to learn.
The MP urged parents and guardians to prioritise schooling, stressing that education remains the surest path to breaking the cycle of poverty. “Parents must play their part by ensuring every child goes to school and remains there. Education gives every child an equal opportunity to succeed regardless of background,” he said.

Tongoyo also challenged local leaders to focus on tangible development projects rather than divisive politics. He argued that leadership should be measured by the delivery of services such as schools, health facilities and roads, not by rhetoric.
The commissioning marked another milestone in Narok West’s efforts to strengthen learning institutions through the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG‑CDF). At Kipsongol Primary School, Tongoyo interacted with pupils in one of the newly completed classrooms, demonstrating lessons on a modern whiteboard instead of the traditional chalkboard — a symbolic shift toward cleaner, more innovative learning environments.
Parents, teachers and residents welcomed the new facilities, saying the classrooms and administration blocks would ease congestion, improve school management and create a more conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning.
The projects form part of Tongoyo’s broader development agenda, which places education at the centre of efforts to empower young people and improve outcomes across Narok West.
