Njoro Technical Training Institute (TTI) in Nakuru County has a new principal after Tabitha Githaiga was officially handed the reins of the institution, taking over from Dr Sheila Kandie in a formal handover ceremony held at the college.
Dr Kandie has been appointed Chief Principal of Baringo National Polytechnic, moving on after a period of leadership at Njoro TTI during which the institute grew and strengthened its standing within Kenya’s technical and vocational education and training (TVET) sector.
The handover event brought together staff and members of the Njoro TTI community to formally mark the transition and to celebrate Dr Kandie’s tenure at the institute. Speakers at the ceremony paid tribute to her leadership, describing her contribution to the institute’s development as significant and highlighting her dedication to its growth over the years she was at the helm.

In her acceptance remarks, Githaiga pledged to build on the foundation laid by her predecessor. She said she would work to position Njoro TTI as one of the leading TVET institutions in Kenya, with a focus on quality training, innovation, excellence and teamwork.
The Njoro TTI fraternity welcomed Githaiga to her new role and pledged its support as she settles into the position. Leaders at the institute expressed confidence that the transition would maintain continuity in the institute’s operations while opening a new chapter under Githaiga’s leadership.
