Mwala MP Vincent Musau has pledged a major facelift for Kabaa High School, saying the institution deserves a modern outlook that reflects its status as one of the region’s oldest and most established schools.
Speaking during the school’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), Musau said the planned upgrade will begin with the replacement of the school’s asbestos roofs, which he described as a potential health risk to students and staff.
He also pledged to have the stretch from the main gate to the administration block paved with cabro, a move aimed at improving both the school’s appearance and accessibility for students, staff and visitors.
The MP assured the school community of his continued support as Kabaa High School works to restore its former glory, noting that the planned improvements were part of a broader commitment to the institution’s development.

Musau also congratulated the school for its improved academic performance and challenged students to set higher goals for themselves. “As a student, learn to constantly revise your goals and vision. What you were aiming for in primary school should not be the same thing you are aiming for today. Kabaa should set its sights higher, beyond Machakos County,” he said.
Drawing on the school’s history, Musau reminded the school community of its role in founding Mangu High School, which has since grown into one of the country’s most renowned institutions. “This school gave birth to Mangu High School, which is now well-renowned. Kabaa can also reclaim its place,” he added.
