Narok Branch KUPPET Chairman Kipkoech Chepkwony has officially declared his candidature for the position of Regional Secretary for the Rift Valley Region ahead of the union elections scheduled for August 21, 2026, in Nakuru County.
Chepkwony, who has served two terms as the elected chairman of the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) Narok Branch, said he is seeking the regional position to strengthen unity among branches and improve service delivery to teachers across the Rift Valley.
In his campaign message to delegates, Chepkwony highlighted his leadership experience and commitment to advancing the interests of union members. He noted that his tenure in Narok has equipped him with the skills and experience necessary to effectively coordinate activities across the vast Rift Valley Region.
Among his key priorities, Chepkwony pledged to enhance coordination among KUPPET branches in the region to foster stronger collaboration, improve communication, and ensure members’ concerns are addressed promptly.
He also promised to champion transparent and efficient handling of teacher transfers within the region, saying teachers deserve a fair and accountable process that safeguards their welfare and professional interests.
Delegates’ welfare, he said, will remain at the centre of his leadership agenda if elected.
Chepkwony pledged to advocate for members’ rights, respond promptly to emerging issues, and ensure that the concerns of teachers receive the attention they deserve at all levels of the union.
