The new school bus procured for AIC Naki Secondary School through the Nyakach NG-CDF. The bus replaces the one lost in the 2025 road tragedy and is expected to improve student transport for academic and co-curricular activities.
  • Nyakach Constituency has procured six new school buses through the National Government Constituencies Development Fund.
  • The buses will be distributed to six schools before the end of the 2026/2027 financial year.
  • The investment raises the number of NG-CDF-funded school and institutional buses in the constituency to 22.

Nyakach Constituency has expanded its investment in education after MP Aduma Owuor procured six new school buses through the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF).

The buses will be distributed before the end of the 2026/2027 financial year to AIC Naki Secondary School, Ragen AIC Secondary School, Pawtenge Secondary School, Olembo Boys High School, Rakwaro Mixed Secondary School and St George’s Special School.

The procurement increases the number of school and institutional buses provided through the Nyakach NG-CDF to 22, reflecting sustained investment in improving educational infrastructure.

Nyakach Girls High School is also expected to receive a new school bus through support from President William Samoei Ruto.

Aduma said strengthening school infrastructure remains central to improving educational outcomes across the constituency.

“School infrastructure is a key base for effective teaching and learning in schools and is an enabler of academic progress,” he said.

He noted that the buses will enable schools to transport students safely to academic events, sports competitions and other co-curricular activities while improving punctuality and reducing transport challenges.

Boost for schools

The allocation is particularly significant for AIC Naki Secondary School, which lost its previous bus in a tragic road accident in 2025 that claimed the lives of more than 20 people.

Education experts have long observed that school buses enhance access to learning opportunities by improving student mobility and enabling institutions to participate in academic, sporting and other co-curricular activities that complement classroom learning.
