Meru National Polytechnic has announced the death of trainee Benedictor Ntinyari, who passed away on July 12, 2026, leaving the institution and her colleagues in mourning.
In a notice issued by the Dean of Students’ Office on July 16, the institution informed the polytechnic fraternity of the demise of the trainee, identified by admission number 51515 COS/025/S/L4.
The notice stated that Benedictor’s burial will take place on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, as family, friends and fellow trainees prepare to bid her a final farewell.
The institution expressed its condolences to the bereaved family and the entire college community during this difficult period.
“May the Almighty God rest her soul in eternal peace and give the entire family and the Polytechnic fraternity strength and courage to bear this irredeemable loss,” read part of the notice signed by Dean of Trainees John Kiura.
The announcement has elicited grief among trainees and staff, with many sending messages of comfort and support to the family.
Community urged to stand together
The cause of death was not disclosed in the notice.

As preparations for the burial continue, members of the Meru National Polytechnic community have been urged to stand in solidarity with the bereaved family and honour the memory of the late trainee.
