Principal Secretary for the State Department for Aviation and Aerospace Development Teresia Mbaika has called on political leaders to be role models for young people and avoid engaging in politics of incitement.
Speaking at Enzai Market in Mukaa Sub-county, Makueni County, during a women empowerment meeting, Mbaika said leaders serving in different positions should lead with integrity, noting that young people look up to them for guidance.
Addressing the issue of incitement and goonism, she warned youths against allowing themselves to be manipulated by politicians through handouts and drugs to disrupt meetings or engage in other unlawful activities.
“See what has happened in the Ol Kalou by-election. Politics of incitement, intimidation and blame games have no place in our society. Our youths have a future, and many of you still depend on your parents. If a politician gives you Sh100, take it to your parents or use it to buy something for them, but always embrace peace,” said Mbaika.
