Young Christian Students (YCS) held their annual Holy Christian Mass successfully at St. Peters Keberesi High School in Kenyenya Sub-county.
The Mass was led by Fr. Otomu of Sengera Parish and focused on reviving honesty, unity, leadership and moral values among the youth and in educational institutions. He was assisted by Fr. Walter Obara, the chaplain and teacher at Cardinal Otunga Mosocho High School.
In his homily, Fr. Otomu told students that valuable education is unattainable without integrity. He said honesty builds trust between students, teachers and parents, and creates an environment where learning can thrive.
He added that unity is the foundation of academic and personal growth. “When students stand together, support one another and respect different opinions, schools become centers of peace and progress,” he said.
Fr. Walter Obara emphasized the importance of leadership and moral values. He urged students to be servant leaders in their schools and communities by making responsible choices, upholding discipline, and standing against vices that destroy the future of the youth.

“Leadership starts with character. A student who is honest, united with others and guided by good morals will become a leader who transforms society,” Fr. Obara said.
Christianity and School Excellence
The Principal of St. Peters Keberesi High School Lukas Maburi highlighted how Christianity had helped the school achieve high education standards and sports discipline. He noted that these values have shaped the school’s Sports Academy, which has become a center of excellence in the locality.
He asked parents to visit the school regularly to support the family-like environment that enables students to learn with ease in a friendly environment cushioned with Christian principles.
