  • The MoE has activated the Grade 10 selection portal for Grade 9 learners transitioning to senior school.
  • Learners will now choose subject combinations based on those offered by individual senior schools.
  • Parents and schools have been urged to guide learners in selecting pathways aligned to their interests, strengths and career aspirations.

Parents and Grade 9 learners can now begin selecting subject combinations for senior school after the Ministry of Education activated the Grade 10 Selection Portal, marking a major milestone in the transition to senior secondary education under the Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum.

The newly activated portal introduces a more practical placement approach by aligning subject combinations with those offered by individual senior schools.

Under the new system, learners can enter their preferred subject combinations and immediately view the schools offering them.

Alternatively, parents and learners can search for a specific senior school to view the subject combinations available before making their final selections.

The Ministry said the platform is designed to ensure learners are placed in schools that match their academic interests, career aspirations and available learning opportunities within the CBE pathways.

Parents urged to participate

Education stakeholders have encouraged parents to actively guide their children throughout the selection process by discussing their interests, abilities and future career goals.

The Ministry has also urged schools to support learners in making informed choices, noting that the selected pathways will determine learning throughout Grades 10, 11 and 12.

How to access the portal

Parents can verify learner details and complete the selection process through the Ministry’s Grade 10 Selection System by entering the learner’s assessment number on the learner verification portal.
