Among the retirees are Cornelius Sindani of Khasoko Boys High School, Oliver Kituyi of Chemche Secondary School, Francisca Wanzala of Nangwe Girls High School, Beatrice Kimachas of Kim Girls High School, Kapkota, as well as the principals of Friends Miendo Secondary School, Lukhome Secondary School, and Chenjeni Secondary School.

Major leadership transitions are underway in Bungoma County’s education sector following the retirement of seven senior school principals who officially exited the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) on June 30, 2026, after attaining the mandatory retirement age.
The retirement of the veteran school heads in Bungoma marks the end of decades of dedicated service in secondary education and opens a new chapter for the affected institutions as the TSC prepares to appoint substantive replacements.
Among the Bungoma retirees are Cornelius Sindani of Khasoko Boys High School, Oliver Kituyi of Chemche Secondary School, Francisca Wanzala of Nangwe Girls High School, Beatrice Kimachas of Kim Girls High School, Kapkota, as well as the principals of Friends Miendo Secondary School, Lukhome Secondary School, and Chenjeni Secondary School.
Over the years, the outgoing principals provided leadership in curriculum implementation, school management, infrastructure development, and learner mentorship.
They also steered their institutions through key education reforms, including the transition to Competency-Based Education (CBE), while promoting academic excellence, discipline, and holistic learner development.
