The Multimedia University of Kenya (MMU) has directed all Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) students to continue attending classes as scheduled in preparation for the July/August 2026 national examinations and assessments.

In a notice issued by the Office of the Registrar (Academic Affairs), Acting Registrar Judith Zirro said the examinations and assessments conducted by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) and the TVET Curriculum Development, Assessment and Certification Council (TVET CDACC) will begin on July 20, 2026, and conclude on August 7, 2026.

The university said the continued classes are intended to adequately prepare candidates for the national examination series and urged students to remain focused on their studies until the assessments are completed.

Academic calendar

According to the notice, students will proceed for the university vacation immediately after completing the examinations.

The holiday will run until August 28, 2026, while the September–December 2026 semester will commence on Monday, August 31, 2026, when all students are expected to report back.

Fee clearance reminder

MMU also reminded students to clear all outstanding tuition and other university fee balances before the start of the 2026/2027 academic year.

The administration warned that students with pending fee balances will not be allowed to progress to the next academic year until all financial obligations have been settled.

The communication comes weeks after the university experienced disruptions to its examination programme when some end-of-semester examinations were postponed, triggering student protests over the delays.

The university has since been working to restore the academic calendar and ensure normal learning activities resume.

In the latest notice, the administration wished all TVET students success in their examinations and assessments, encouraging them to remain disciplined and focused throughout the examination period.
