A cloud of grief has engulfed Kiptamuk Village in Kaplelmet Sub-location, Nandi Hills, following the tragic death of renowned telecommunications engineer George Kibet in a road accident in Nairobi.

Family members confirmed the untimely demise of the accomplished engineer, whose death has sent shockwaves across Nandi County, Kapsabet Boys High School, the University of Nairobi and Safaricom, where he worked.

Academic excellence

George Kibet was widely admired for his remarkable academic achievements and professional excellence.

His journey to success began at Nandi Hills Academy, where he emerged among the top performers in the 2004 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations, scoring 412 marks out of a possible 500.

He later joined Kapsabet Boys High School, one of Kenya’s leading academic institutions, where he excelled and attained an A plain in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.

His academic brilliance earned him admission to the University of Nairobi, where he pursued Telecommunications Engineering.

Upon graduation, he was awarded a First Class Honours degree and received a prestigious academic medal in recognition of his outstanding performance.

Professionally, Kibet built a successful career at Safaricom, where he rose through the ranks as a highly respected engineer.

Colleagues described him as innovative, hardworking, humble and deeply committed to his profession.

Friends and family remember him as a God-fearing, caring and approachable individual whose humility matched his impressive achievements.

Many described him as a role model who inspired countless young people to pursue academic excellence and professional success.

Kibet leaves behind a young widow and two children.
