Kamelilo Day Secondary School have been disqualified from the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) football competition despite emerging champions of the Koibatek sub-county Games, following a successful appeal filed by Poror Boys High School over the eligibility of some players.
The ruling has dramatically altered the outcome of the competition and handed Poror Boys a lifeline after initially missing out on qualification.
School sports officials ruled in favour of the appeal, effectively stripping Kamelilo Day of their county games ticket.
The latest setback marks the second consecutive year that Kamelilo Day has faced disqualification over player eligibility issues.
Last year, the school was also disqualified during the regional championships under similar circumstances, a trend that has continued to raise concerns among stakeholders over compliance with KSSSA regulations.

The decision has generated widespread discussion across Koibatek and the larger Baringo County football fraternity, with many supporters expressing mixed reactions.
While some have sympathized with Kamelilo Day after their strong performances on the field, others have emphasized the importance of enforcing competition rules to ensure fairness for all participating schools.
Following the ruling, Poror Boys High School will now represent Koibatek sub-county at the Baringo county KSSSA Games set to begin this Friday.
The school will be looking to put the off-field drama behind them and focus on their preparations as they seek success at the county level.
For Kamelilo Day, the disqualification is a painful blow after a campaign that had appeared to secure them a place among the county’s top teams.
Their achievements on the pitch have once again been overshadowed by administrative and eligibility disputes.
