A fire broke out at Kamureito High School in Kipsonoi Ward, Sotik Sub-County, Bomet County, in the early hours of Monday morning, destroying a school store and two adjacent classrooms before firefighters successfully contained the blaze.
According to the Bomet County Department of Disaster Management, the incident was reported at approximately 2:55 a.m., prompting an immediate response from emergency personnel.
Firefighters were dispatched to the school and arrived to find the store and two nearby classrooms engulfed in flames.
The response team quickly moved into action, battling the fire and preventing it from spreading to other parts of the institution.
Their efforts helped save additional classrooms and school facilities that were at risk of being consumed by the blaze.
No Casualties
Although the affected structures sustained substantial damage, no injuries or fatalities were reported.
The absence of casualties has been attributed to the swift intervention by emergency responders and the fact that the fire occurred when students were not in the affected buildings.

Authorities have secured the scene as investigations into the cause of the fire get underway.
